The second article for FreeFacing will continue on combining free fonts. Energy, is the second combination of free fonts using the guides by the Hoefler & Frere-Jones article on combining fonts.
2 – A palette with energy: mix typefaces from the same historical period whose families have different features.
I have combined a heavy slab serif, with a condensed geometric sans-serif and a robust book serif.
- Exuberant, I have used Romeral, but you could also use BP Diet
- Respectable, I have used League Gothic, but you could use DejaVu Sans Condensed
- Hearty, I have used DejaVu Serif, but you could use Century Schoolbook (Microsoft)
