An interesting interview with the creators of the memorable and influential Trainspotting posters 15 years on. The poster series is still as fresh and modern now as it was when it came out.

Nice logo by One Up for Japan Garden, drawing inspiration from Zen Gardens. I like that the stroke widths for the icon and wordmark match, I also like the partial symmetry of the letters in the wordmark.
Nice poster by Robet Vidaure, of n3rdski, for the bicentennial of American writer/poet Edgar Allan Poe, drawing inspiration from his poem The Raven.
Great branding for Salon Modern by Studio MPLS. It all starts with a very traditional, but well executed set of initials. This is then combined with other traditional icons such as crowns, florets, scissors and stars set in modern roundels. These designs are also incorporated into patterns set in a bold colour palette of yellow, orange and blue. The pattern is then set very large as wall paper and window dressing.
Great poster for the film Coffee and Cigarettes, perfectly integrating the symbology into a single ampersand icon.
Great logo for the Musicians’ Union by Matt Judge. I actually prefer the initial sketch which had a large overshoot for the curved sections, but I think the finished version still works very well.
The brand guidelines look great as well, nicely laid out with prepared grids alongside the usual fonts and colours.
Proof that minimalist branding can work beautifully if consistent and simple. The Chicago Architecture Foundation is set in black and white Helvetica.
Although I am not sure why the ‘un’ of foundation is combined.

Elegant branding for Charles Grech by Mangion & Lightfoot, whose work has appeared on here previously.
I love the Greek maze like logo which references the Greek origins of the name, and looks signet ring in style.
The stationary does well to reference the products sold of cigars, wine and whiskey, although I am not sure about the way this is cropped in some elements.
