Nice posters for the Oslo Bokfestival. Since the wording is all in Norwegian, it makes it easy to view the words as shapes and admire some of the interesting layouts. As a branding exercise, I think that the colour palette should have been reduced, there are too many different tones used for each of these to work cohesively together. I like the combination of fonts, the black weights stand out nicely and contrast well.
Awesome 60′s brochures for Citroën in a cutout of cars and delivery vans. The typography and colour palette are both excellent.
Nice branding for J.W. Hall Builders by Abby Brewster. The logo is very simple, what I like is the modern-retro patterns, colours and typography that accompany it. I also love the small roundel version of the logo centering on the initials. The typography is a nice mix of a plain sans-serif with a wide slab-serif and fancy bodoni numbers.
Great looking infographics by WWF on the effect of diet and ecological footprint on the world.
The first graphic shows that if we all ate like those from the US, by 2050 we would have consumed three planets of natural resources.
The second graphic shows that while high income countries have continued to grow the number of resources consumed per person, it has come at the expense of middle and low income countries.
Both infographics have been presented beautifully, particularly the second one with the attractive rainbow bar chart and map connecting onto the line chart at the bottom.
Fun branding for Glue by Magpie Studio. Glue are a British not-for-profit company to help young people and communities through policy and infrastructure.
The branding is a simple wordmark in a strong geometric sans in a semi-transparent circle placed on a variety of differently patterned backgrounds. The patterns are all retro-chic with polka dots, stripes, trefoils and crosses in a nice colour palette.
I like that the logo is semi-transparent, allowing some of the background pattern to come through and add a bit of excitement to what would have otherwise been a bit of a boring logo.
The logo is generally placed over two different patterns or images, and used to stick them together. I think that this would work better for images if the same pattern was also overlayed over the whole image.
The patterns are then used extensively throughout the branding, even in the report graphs.
I have not posted any cool indie gig posters for a short while, so here are some more, these are by Garrett Karol. The posters have a lovely subdued colour palette and mix retro prints with grungey looks.
Beautiful and elegant label for wine. The textured paper along with the silhouette of a stylised lion and subtle diamond background give a royal and rich feel.

Great branding for Salon Modern by Studio MPLS. It all starts with a very traditional, but well executed set of initials. This is then combined with other traditional icons such as crowns, florets, scissors and stars set in modern roundels. These designs are also incorporated into patterns set in a bold colour palette of yellow, orange and blue. The pattern is then set very large as wall paper and window dressing.
