Graph | The design process
Great schematic of the design process by Chevychase, giving a quirky mad scientist approach that makes it memorable. My critique would be that the site’s accompanying text does not match the stages of the diagram.
Layout | 2010 Trinations Rugby final results
As promised, I have updated my graphic for the Trinations now that it has finished. That was a rather lucky escape for the All Blacks and highlighted that the next tier of players are not up to the same standard as the regulars.

Graph | Language tube map
Yet another Beck tube style map, although this one is the certainly the closest looking to Beck’s since the lines are almost exactly the same shape as London’s Underground.
This maps the most widely spoken languages across the countries where they are spoken.
Graph | 10 years of Blur concerts
Another nice use of Beck’s tube or subway style maps to chart the gig history of Blur, who incidentally have a free music download on their site. The concept is similar to the subway of science.
Graph | 500 years of Science
A subway map of the top scientists from the past 500 years. Scientists are stops, and the different fields are the lines, with cross overs where scientists worked in multiple fields.
This would have been a large task to complete, and the idea is brilliant. Some of the alignment and shapes could be improved in future versions.

Layout | Space Debris
Nice looking infographic showing the make up and position of different space debris, and the effect on satellites.
The design is a nice piece of retro-futurism, and fits in well with old sci-fi programmes like the origianl Star-Trek etc.
Layout | Novichkov’s infographics
Great looking infographic magazine page layouts by Novichkov. I particularly like the first one on oil spills which does very well with the limited colour palette, and gives a great sense of oil dripping down the page.

Design items that pique my interest while surfing the internet. Most items are based on typography and page layouts.
I have also started a new section called FreeFacing where I explore the different good free fonts available.
