Graph | Ebb and flow of World Cup Football Games

Brilliant infographic by Michael Deal for Umbro showing the ebb and flow of each game at the Football World Cup. Each team is shown with passes represented by thin verticle lines, triangles for shots and circles for goals. You can quickly see when each team had the ball, how good their passing was, and how often they shot at goal. One refinement I would suggest is colour coding the shots to show which were on target.
