Typography | A tip on kerning
Here is a great tip when you are trying to perfectly kern a small amount of text:
Turn the type upside down, so that you look at each individual shape and their relationships, rather than reading the word.
The example below shows this with Water. You cannot easily read that it says water, so instead concentrate on each shape and can space accordingly.
Obviously you can only do this when working on small amounts of text such as for logos and headlines.
