Layout | Feltron Report 2011-2011

Nicholas Felton has released his annual Feltron report. This report covers both 2010 and 2011, as the 2010 Feltron report was a chronicle of the life of Nicholas’ father. As usual the report is expertly crafted and presented. The focus is specifically on the locations he visited over the two year period.

Layout | Vintage Movie Posters worth a bit of money

The Guardian has a collection of the 10 most expensive movie posters. Expensive not in production, but in the value of the physical poster to a collector. Most of these are great examples of vintage horror movie illustrations, but also include the beautiful Metropolis design. I love the custom type on these posters, and there are some great compositions and perspectives.

Typography | Exo free font family

In a rare occurrence for free type families, you can download the whole 18 fonts that make up the extensive Exo. The font comes in thin, extra light, light, regular, medium, demi-bold, bold and extra bold, all with matching true italics. All weights have small caps, alternates, ligatures and different number formats in the open type system. The combinations of the different weights lend this to being able to be used in a large range of products. The font itself is a geometric sans-serif similar to Klavika (the Facebook font).
